Playlist.io is the newest applet from Drop.io
Playlist.io is described as the easiest way to move your music to the cloud for quick access. It is also the latest applet from the company that has seen the light of the cloud, drop.io.
The video demo that drop.io set up shows how easy it is to drop your music to the cloud. Along with their other new release called Droppler, which is an iPhone app that utilizes the drop.io API, drop.io has their finger on the pulse of everything cloud.
Privacy advocates are probably tickled about the fact of the drops you do on drop.io are protected from search engines. Also, for the other side of the coin:
We log IP addresses and have a one click takedown notice. There is no searching function on drop.io or accessible index of drops.
Other applets that were talked about on their latest blog post are as follows:
phone.io — free conference calling and voicemail to web/podcast/email/etc.
tweet.io — push any file or rich media type into your twitter feed on the fly
usend.io – an api app that uploads your file to a drop and sends out an email link on the fly
Do you believe that the cloud is the future? Or are you still one of those that believe in living behind firewalls with a token ring network?
Whatever your beliefs are, concerning drop.io or the cloud in general, we’d love to hear your thoughts left as a comment and if you are on twitter, be sure to enhance the conversation with us directly: siliconANGLE, John Furrier, Mark “Rizzn” Hopkins, Rex Dixon.
