NBC Turns to Wonderwall Site Extension, where Politicians are Celebrities

Politicians have attracted enough media attention for MSNBC Digital Network and BermanBraun to stretch Wonderwall to cover politics.

“We are excited to partner with BermanBraun to build content experiences that are not only compelling for consumers but also attractive to our advertisers,” said Charlie Tillinghast, President of the Msnbc Digital Network.  “BermanBraun has been innovative and creative with advertising and we look forward to reaching out to our key clients to continue to deliver effective and impactful solutions.”

This new innovation that will be launched later this year, will not limit itself to mere polls and policy when tackling about political living. It will treat political figures like celebrities.

“Many of our most fascinating public figures live in the world of politics,” said BermanBraun partners Gail Berman and Lloyd Braun.  “We feel the political arena is a natural extension of the Wonderwall brand, and we are excited to partner in this new endeavor with msnbc.”

Launched last February 2009, Wonderwall is a product of Msnbc Digital Network and Bermanbraun partnership. It is one of the top online destinations for celebrity news and updates. Bermanbraun will take the design, programming and operation for the new site while MSNBC will be responsible for the distribution, publicity, content and advertisement via MSN headlines in their homepage. They also partnered with Microsoft.

It’s another signal of the convergence of politics and pop culture, which now encompasses the online digital world.  The Huffington Post has recently incorporated some real-time poltical election trends to reel in more engaged audiences, while political parties are seeking any tirumph they can get with the social media crowd.
