PR Consolidation: Lewis PR Buys PageOne PR – Good Move For PageOne
It was announced on the PageOne PR that LewisPR acquired them. Price was not disclosed. PageOne PR is in the trenches with VC backed companies and global brands like Cisco and SAP. I also know about them because they also do PR for Cloudera. PageOne PR was founded by Lonn Johnston and Craig Oda.
PageOne is a respected firm with good people and clients. Getting rolled into LewisPR is a very complementary fit between the two firms.
Here is the post from Lonn Johnston and Craig Oda. Congrats to PageOne and Lewis
In 2010 we doubled our margins and increased revenues 20 percent. Our social media business more than doubled. We added McAfee and Polycom to a social media client roster that already includes Cisco, SAP and VMware.
During this time of rapid growth, we knew that we needed to become a larger organization to provide our customers with the highest quality of service and be able to respond to the demand for bigger and more global marketing campaigns.
We never set out to join another communications and marketing agency and we weren’t looking for a buyer. Instead we were enjoying the most successful year ever in the company’s eight-year history.
But growing this quickly brings its own operations and management challenges. To really scale our business we decided it would be best to partner with a firm that could complement us with global reach, a great culture, a commitment to the strategic importance of social media in our industry and very big plans. For us, that partner is LEWIS PR.
We think LEWIS PR brings our customers and our employees many new benefits. We can support our clients globally. Employees have access to many more resources than a small agency can provide. We think it’s a win for everyone involved. (Read the full press release.)
The principals of Page One, Craig Oda and Lonn Johnston, can now focus all of their attention on our clients and staff. The day-to-day operations and infrastructure challenges of ramping up our business will be in the capable hands of LEWIS PR.
