GigaOm Secures $2.5 Million in a Fourth Round of Financing
According to an SEC filing, it’s revealed that media and tech blog network GigaOm secured a $2.5 million for the fourth time. The round comes from investors Alloy Ventures and True Ventures. All in all, they have secured $8.3 million.
The news floated a day after AllThings D said it is hiring Liz Gannes of GigaOm, to cover its social media news.
Though it was not revealed what the blog network will do with the new funding, there’s been a growing trend of acquisitions in the world of web media. Th GigaOm network spans a few different angles, and fleshing these out would further enhance the network.
The recent acquisition of TechCrunch by AOL was more validation of the tech blogging world. We couldn’t be happier to see this sector gaining traction.
