Amazon Gift Cards Now on Facebook
Amazon introduced a new and more popular way of sending Amazon.com Gift Cards to Facebook buddies. By simply connecting one’s Facebook account on Amazon.com, a customer can already make a personalized gift card to be delivered on a chosen date straight to the friend’s Facebook Wall. The entire process can be accessed here.
“We think our customers who use Facebook will be thrilled that we’ve made gift-giving more social,” said Michal Geller, director of ACI Gift Cards, Inc., the exclusive issuer of Amazon.com Gift Cards. “Sending gift cards has never been easier and we’re excited to offer the Facebook option just in time for the holidays.”
Just about a month ago, Facebook’s shopping capability got fuller with Procter & Gamble’s Pampers appearance, adding to the already visible Tide, Pantene, Oral B and others (see here). Later in October, Facebook expanded its credits availability to Walmart and Best Buy. True enough, the move was noted as a “landmark in the involvement of social media with the retail industry and customers’ approach to purchasing”.
Amazon kicks off its presence on Facebook with a “Give 5, Get $5” promo for the first 10,000 customers to give an MP3-themed Amazon Gift Card to five different Facebook friends. A $5 credit good for music downloads at Amazon MP3 awaits those who can act ahead of Facebook’s around 500 million users around the globe. Amazon MP3 is packed with a library of over 13 million songs, not to mention the fact that all music downloads at Amazon MP3 are DRM-free, compatible with virtually any MP3 player or phone.
