SlingPlayer Mobile App, Latest on Windows Phone 7
One of the most recently developed applications for Windows Phone 7 is SlingPlayer Mobile app. It was announced for availability this week. After purchasing the application, which costs $29.99, from the Windows Marketplace, the user will be able to launch their favorite TV programs on the mobile device. The application can connect through 3G technology or WiFi.
Sling Media also mentioned that Sling Media’s application for Windows Phone 7 will be improved and compatible with iPad too. The announcement has been made via email, advertising the prospective development as taking “full advantage of the iPad’s beautiful display.”
SlingPlayer Mobile app is the similar version of iPhone’s and Android’s applications that enables users to connect to their preferred TV shows and watch them on the handset’s screen. The apps feature the same characteristics and price.
Slingbox is the most successful product of SlingMedia and it makes possible to watch any TV program on computer or any other computer device, while connecting to the AV source. It can be used remotely. The two devices which offer this functionality are available under the following code names: SlingBox Solo and SlingBox Pro-HD, the latter one enabling the user to connect up to three home theater devices.
Althought Microsoft’s marketing team invested much in the release of the new mobile smart handset and has gotten the early support of some high profile developers, the expectations were not fulfilled in the first days after Windows Phone 7’s launch. The poor figures, reported by CNet, demonstrated a lack of interest from the market which seems to be saturated by the variety of innovative smartphones.
Although the release of Microsoft’s gadget on the smartphone market was not as successful as expected, many giants in IT environment show support, including Amazon. The mentioned company offers online the WP7’s version for Amazon Kindle. Millenial Media and Digiday joined in a search for developing applications for the mobile industry. The data gathered indicated an interest for the popular mobile platforms and, surprisingly, for the emerging Windows Phone 7.
