Google Voice Heard in the Apple Store

Google Voice can now be heard in Apple Store, a year-and-a-half after Google submitted the app.  The Google Voice application enables users to give out just one phone number, which can initiate phones calls and transcribe them into voice mails.

iPhone also developed a similar version for PC use. The current version of Google Voice is working only for 3.1 or later versions of the OS, therefore the service can be used only in U.S. for the moment.

During all this time, Apple was monitoring and evaluating the application; the process was so tough for Apple that even the federal Communications Commission was implicated in the approval mechanism. Meantime, Google claimed that the over-run policies in terms of delaying the approval were a demonstration in blatant rejection on Apple’s part.

Apple cannot be fully found guilty, as recently it has lessened the strigency around its approval process.  This might be considered a boomerang effect after Android’s gain in massive popularity.  Signs that Android is a fast-paced competitor to Apple are shown by Skype’s success on launching its version for Android running devices.
