Bing’s New Year Revolutions Unleashed
It may be quite too early to tell that this will be Bing’s New Year’s resolution, but looks like the organization is introducing great features and updates before it greets 2011. The latest release of Bing promises to be more social, local, easy-to-use, helpful and mobile. The focus of the company now is to reimagine and revolutionize the usual search function to its users.![]()
The company is now looking into technologies to help them implement changes and fulfill their goals. When it says helpful, you are assured that when you search for ticket sellers of a sporting event or an excellent restaurant Bing has you covered. With social, it means that they will expand partnership with no less than the prime social network in the planet, Facebook. Bing is also targeting to make 40% of all queries be easily searched locally.
A very detailed statement from read in the community page of Bing explained the mobile capabilities and limitations of their new update. “We’re bringing these focus areas to the mobile experience as well. However, just porting our PC product to the mobile device didn’t make sense. Instead Bing apps for Android and iPhone have all been updated to reflect how customers are using mobile devices. We’re delivering new mobile-friendly features like AutoSuggest, a new way to search by having a simple “conversation” with Bing. Integrated task completion experiences that let you book tables and have food delivered from partners OpenTable and GrubHub—right from search results like, “California Pizza Kitchen,” or “Chinese.” We also offer street-level mapping, real-time public transit status, unified “check-ins” and much more. Finally m.bing.com is updated with the latest HTML5 technologies to deliver an amazing browser-experience across many modern devices.”
In another article posted in SiliconAngle, Bing has updated its travel booking search. With this, users will no longer have to manually select your airport, destination, dates or other options to conduct a flight search. Bing will do the dirty work for you.
