Toshiba Releases Security Tools in Response to Wikileaks Debacle

With Wikileaks running wild and dominating news headlines, as well as causing some major damage to the U.S. government, the IT world is being slapped in the face by document security issues.

Toshiba America Business Solutions (TABS), which focuses on document level security, in partnership with Fasoo.com, Korea’s leading Enterprise DRM (E-DRM), responds to this alarming level of data breaches with DRM ONE for MFPs. The employment of Fasoo’s technology provides persistent security on scanned documents, allowing companies to grant different permission by users and groups, and monitor document activities.

Serious data breaches nowadays is rather familiar. Who would think that something like a Multifunction Printer (MFP) would impose some serious risks? Moreoever, even trusted employees leak information both intentionally and unintentionally. As such, all companies, regardless of size, must employ file-based security solutions. File-based security incorporates high-level encryptions that travels with a file and permits the owner of the document to control all access rights, preventing it from ever reaching the public domain. While many organization have made significant investments to combat both internal and external document threats, security issues are also getting more sophisticated. The fight simply doesn’t end by solving one problem.
