Springpad Breaks Record, Adds new Features

Smart note-taking app Springpad  boasted a record-breaking January with more than 250,000 new subscribers. Following this surge in activity, Springpad CEO Jeff Janer announced some updates to the cross-platform app, specifically to the web-based version and Chrome extension.

” In response to user requests and to support this record number of new users, Springpad today introduces a new set of features for its Web app and a major upgrade to its popular Chrome Browser Extension to make saving and organizing faster than ever.”

Springpad’s web-based version was upgraded with new note filters, including the options to search recipes or restaurants by cuisine and filter movies based on actors and genre. A trash button was also added on the main page to enable item recovery.

In turn the Springpad Chrome extension also got an upgrade, with a cleaner and more organized UI. Notes are automatically categorized, and a restructured interface reportedly enables faster performance and note taking.

Springpad has become a very popular app, and the Springpad Chrome extension even scored a place in the top 14 Chrome Web Store applications list, climbing all the way up to 4# after YouTube, Citrix Receiver and Amazon WindowsShop. We also covered the launch of the first version of Springpad for the then newly launched Chrome Web Store.
