Microsoft’s Outlook Gets a Gadget Store Courtesy of Xobni

Xobni is a well known plugin for Microsoft’s Outlook that looks to socialize your email inbox and provide some intelligence and relationship management capabilities. Having used Xobni back when it was still in beta, I can say that it is an interesting way to gain some control over your inbox.

To continue to improve of the control you have, Xobni announced today the availability of the Xobni Gadget Store where you can find third party plugins that extend the capabilities and options provided to you.

The Xobni Gadget Platform is based around the OpenSocial Platform and is also available for enterprise operations that want to be able to create Outlook sidebar or email message body application for internal use.

For developer looking to create gadgets it is as simple as creating an Xobni account, agree to Developer Terms of Service and install Xobni but you can find out more at their developer page.

Here is a sample of what is available in the store so far with many of the gadgets available for free, with the paid gadgets usually costing under $9.99 per year.
