GigaSpaces Boosts Global Expansion in Eastern Europe
Gigaspaces, an emerging developer of cloud scaling platforms, is making partners in an effort to expand its market share. This part of its strategy is a very significant one, its most recent partner being the Poland-based Comarch. The latter offers system integration services, and announced it will leverage GigaSpaces’ flagship eXtreme Application Platform (XAP) offering as the existing base for its brokerage system.
“Comarch is a logical partner for GigaSpaces as part of our increased focus on Eastern Europe,” says Mickey Alon, Director of Sales, Central Europe, at GigaSpaces, who is also responsible for Eastern Europe. “They benefit from our extensive experience working directly with our Fortune 100 financial services clients, ensuring their system truly fits all of their customers’ requirements.”
The eventual product will be developed to comply with the “increasingly stringent” clearing.
Comarch reportedly has a fairly large customer base in the region as well as worldwide, including many financial institutions that drive a demand for big data solutions. This probably means this latest move by GigaSpaces will prove to be a welcome addition to its check list, considering the momentum cloud and business analytics are gaining worldwide, especially in the financial sector.
Mentioning partners of another kind, GigaSpaces jumped aboard one of the hottest bandwagons in tech, and joined the OpenStack community. The open-source cloud OS initiative already boasts dozens of companies signed up, and GigaSpaces even plans on launching a product based on the platform. This “truly open” Platform-as-a-Service (PaaS) offering is developed in partnership with Citrix.
GigaSpaces has been doing a lot of partnerships lately, and one more company who joined the list is SuperDerivatives. The announcement of that partnership came shortly after the latest version of GigaSpaces XAP was launched, and our news editor Kristen Nicole interviewed Uri Cohen, Director of Product Management at the company about version 8.0.
