LulzSec Avenges Whistleblower’s Death in Latest Murdoch Attack

“Murdoch, aged 80, has said to have ingested a large quantity of palladium before stumbling into his famous topiary garden late last night, passing out in the early hours of the morning.

“We found the chemicals sitting beside a kitchen table, recently cooked,” one officer states. “From what we can gather, Murdoch melted and consumed large quantities of it before exiting into his garden.”

Relax, it’s a fake article; Rupert Murdoch is still alive.  That’s just part of the fake content LulzSec posted in The Sun newspaper’s website under News International, which is incidentally owned by News Corp, Murdoch’s diminishing flagship company.

The hackers did not infiltrate the core site but injected a pre-formatted HTML file into an old internal server at News International that is used to serve a content box which appears within pages delivered by the paper’s main Amazon Cloud-delivered site.  Employees have already been issued with new logins and passwords to deter possible attacks. The attack happened as authorities are investigating Rebekah Brooks for the laptop found near her apartment.  She is suspected to be intercepting communications that may be crucial to the case.  Brooks has been out on bail.

This fake news may be in response to Sean Hoare’s death.  Hoare was a former reporter for News of the World, and the whistleblower about the phone hacking scandal.  He recently made light to the public who were involved in this scandal.  Though authorities found no signs of foul-play in his death, further investigation will be needed as this case may prove to be something more.  LulzSec seems to be on Hoare’s side, and is somewhat “avenging” his sudden death with this fake Murdoch Dead article.

LulzSec has been constantly tweeting their endeavors on their Twitter account @LulzSec, celebrating their feats and mocking Murdoch.  The hack comes at the height of Murdoch’s high-profile case, where UK officials are looking into News Corp’s phone hackings and other legal and moral issues surrounding the media empire.

LulzSec Tweets:

WE HAVE JOY WE HAVE FUN, WE HAVE MESSED UP MURDOCH’S SUN

Oh, we forgot to mention that we sailed over to News International and wrecked them too. Nearing 300,000 followers… full steam ahead!

Their Tweets are becoming more threatening as days go by.  It looks like Murdoch hasn’t seen the last of LulzSec.  Funny thing is, they’re both hackers!  ;) They may have different principles but deep down, they’re just the same – acquiring something personal without anybody’s knowledge and exploiting it to the public.
