Livescribe Solidifies Personal Cloud, Collaboration with Google Sites and OneNote Expansion

One of the not-so-fun things about college professors is that they talk like they are being chased all the time. As a result, I always find myself gazing off, later having to unlock the mystery of my penmanship.  And this could lead to some academe disaster come exams. How I wish Livescribe was born a little earlier, just so college life would’ve been so much easier.

Launched in May, Livescribe Connect include the innovative smartpens that record everything that you hear and captures the tiniest details of words, diagrams, scribbles and audio. With the market becoming a bit friendlier for such tools, smartpen users may now share information with Microsoft OneNote and Google Sites.

In his official statement following the announcement read on Businesswire.com, Livescribe Co-founder and Chief Marketing Officer, Byron Connell noted on the positive results they are looking into with this digital expansion.

“Written and spoken information are two powerful communication tools; however, most of this information is largely inaccessible in a digital format.

“Livescribe fills this void by enhancing the capture, access and sharing of written and spoken information both on paper and electronically. Adding support for Google Sites and OneNote to the Livescribe Connect suite provides our customers with two more valuable ways to organize, access and share important information from meetings and lectures.”

Microsoft OneNote and Google Sites are perfect fits for Livescribe’s users base. OneNote is a well-known data organization app that carries multimedia files that you can readily share when the need arises. It was created by Microsoft to serve as a digital notebook. Google Sites, on the other hand, is a constellation of online collaboration platforms that include Google Docs, Google Calendar, YouTube, Picasa and its new member, pencasts through Livescribe. The update will also allow smartpen owners to pass on handwritten notes in social networking sites such as Facebook and Twitter, Evernote, iPad and iPhone.

This Livescribe App is linking personal cloud and online collaboration in a more personalized, and relatively faster way.  And in this day and age where time is essential, having something that allows you to connect, share and collaborate online anytime and anywhere, we can say goodbye to the stress of note-taking, and say hello to virtual group studies.
