PocketCloud Promotes Enterprise-on-the-Go, Favors Cisco Cius Tablet
Enterprise apps are becoming hot items in the mobile world. Companies have now recognized the substantial advantage of workers having remote access to their emails, files and programs anytime, anywhere. Tie this with mobility and social media, and now we have a strong platform and opportunity for virtualization and cloud computing. This industry is still at the onset of success and numerous organizations are taking their lucky shot. One of them is Wyse, a known of ally of Cisco, revealing an upgraded edition of the Wyse Pocketcloud mobile software to fully support Cisco Cius enterprise tablet.
General manager of the mobile cloud business unit at Wyse, Daniel Barreto expressed his joy of reinforcing their partnership with Cisco via the Pocketcloud: “Wyse PocketCloud is a perfect complement to the Cisco Cius’ comprehensive suite of communication, collaboration, and enterprise productivity applications. We are very excited to collaborate with Cisco and bring Wyse PocketCloud to an audience of enterprise users who demand utility, productivity, efficiency and top-of-the line security from their business applications.” Wyse continues to broaden their horizon and is expanding its reach to Asian countries.
Wyse PocketCloud will be immediately available in both Cisco AppHQ store for the Android-based Cisco Cius tablet. This app is expected to deliver virtual desktop access service on Cius, enabling enhanced remote access capabilities of employees to access files, media, applications and programs from a laptop or desktop.
Cisco’s mobile efforts are among the busiest sectors of the company lately. They have accomplished several updates in their system and studies relating to mobile space. At VMworld 2011 a Cisco executive stopped by theCube to discuss Cisco’s plans to bring forth virtual apps to support next gen mobility. To educate the public, they published a study that ultimately speaks on the present mobile cloud state, and also launched new routers to target wireless carriers. The organization has also recently released security, safety and communications solutions dedicated to urban environments by means of Medianet infrastructure.
Cisco is bouncing back, turning bad luck to industry innovation, now tapping mobility and its partner ecosystem to resuscitate their business. Juniper remains a sturdy force as well, but with the rampant Cisco mobile market push, they are looking to close the gap.
