VirtuStream Acquires Enomaly and China Plays a Factor

I had not heard from Reuven Cohen for a while. And now I know why. VirtuStream acquired Reuven’s company today for an undisclosed amount.

Reuven is a CloudCamp founder and one of the first generation cloud services providers. Over the past few years he has spent much of his time in China where Enomaly has had much of its growth. He also launched Spotcloud, a service I wrote about earlier this year and apparently also caught the interest of VirtuStream.

VirtuStream is an enterprise services provider that competes with companies such as Savvis. The acquisition will help VirtuStream expand into China. It’s a company with backing from Intel. Reuven also has a close relationship with Intel so the synergy is apparent.

According to its Web site, VirtuStream “enables hybrid cloud deployments, supports multiple hypervisors, and is the industry’s first to offer a sub-virtual machine pricing model that is truly consumption-based.” It also focuses on solutions.

And China is all about solutions when it makes deals with cloud services providers. Reuven has learned that. I interviewed Reuven on the topic this Fall at the Intel Developer Forum.

Reuven has more about the acquisition on his blog.
