AreYouWatchThis?! on Android; Ties into Google TV, DirectTV and Tivo
AreYouWatchingThis?!, the website that alerts you via email or text message of a game’s scores, time left, and channel you need to turn to in order to catch it, just rolled out an app for Android smartphones and tablets. It also established ties with Google TV, DirectTV and Tivo so you can control the channels/TV directly from the app, which tells you what channels everything is on based on your location and provider.
This is made possible as RUWT communicates to multiple platforms and devices at the same time using a single code base, integrating all of the screens in your living room and creating a streamlined sports watching experience.
RUWT’s intuitive robot that watches every game and channel will alert you when to tune in, and will give recommendations and configurable alerts when you really have to check out a game on a certain channel. The robot has an impressive algorithm approach that takes massive data feeds of all sports, round the clock. It analyzes activities to identify overturns during a game, even its stats, news stories and such.
The RUWTbot learns, so it gets better over time. It’s prediction of when the game’s going to be hot, is getting hotter, or is all-out epic is improving by the day. “It’s not just a remote — it’s a concierge, and it’s mission control.” Having the remote with you is like having a sports analyst in your pocket. Even RUWT’s CEO Mark Phillip has an interesting tech story to tell about the remote. You’ll never miss out on a classic again!
RUWT has been up and running for three years now. It was also one of the startups we noted at SXSW, and has an estimated 2.4 million combinations inclusive of postal codes and providers that filters all channels and providers across Canada and the United States. SiliconAngle will definitely catch them again at SXSW as we cover the event next year.
