Zynga May Bring Titles to Xbox Amidst Increasing Competition

Zynga CEO Marc Pincus told GigaOm in an interview that the social gaming titan may add support for xBox 360. It’s currently developing cloud support for its games across multiple devices so the gaming console may get on the list. There’s no official announcement yet but Pincus’ message indicated that the two companies may collaborate in the future.

“Right now we are building back-end technology, so that your game state can be saved and served up in difference screens/devices,” Pincus said. “The interaction cues will take from the different devices. In other words, you can play a game on a computer and call it up on Xbox and you resume from the point you left off, except the game play will now be customized for the Xbox controller.”

The company is currently facing tight competition from Angry Birds-maker Rovio in mobile and social gaming scene. The two are on the race acquiring companies recently. Zynga bought OMGPOP last week, then Rovio acquired Futuremark Games studio today atop sending Angry Birds into outer space two weeks ago that launched new game Angry Birds: Space to 10 million downloads in just three days.

Meanwhile, Zynga CEO and other insiders at the company plans to sell 43 million shares in an IPO in hopes to bolster general trading stocks by 35 percent. Therefore, Class B stocks owned by Mark Pincus and others will be changed to regular Class A. Class A and B are basically of the same value except that the voting power in B stocks are 7 times the A stocks.

In other social gaming news, Zynga partner Mob Science is riding in the coattails of the gaming behemoth as it raised $1 million in seed funding. The two came together because of  the Zynga Platform partner program, allowing partners to put their games on Zynga.com for increased visibility and more cash. Mob Science’s games aren’t on Zynga.com yet but they still got funding almost solely because of its partnership with the gaming platform.
