Nokia’s Cheap New Phones Connect to Facebook, Twitter

Nokia unveils cheap mobile phones
Nokia unveiled two new mobile phones aimed to lure the younger generation as the handsets are both socially integrated. The Nokia 110 and Nokia 112 keep users connected on Facebook, Twitter and other social media networks.
Both units are dual SIM equipped with the easy swap technology that allows users to quickly swap SIMs without needing to remove the battery or turning off the device. It can store data from up to five SIMs. Both have a 1.8″ display, and will soon have access to 40 key EA Games for free including TetrisR , BejeweledR , Need for Speed(TM) The Run, Monopoly Here & Now, and SimCity(TM) Deluxe. Both have improved VGA cameras and can support up to 32GB of external memory.
“Today’s mobile phone users want a quick internet experience that allows them to discover great content and share it with their friends – but without being held back by high data costs,” said Mary T. McDowell, executive vice president, Mobile Phones, Nokia. “The new Nokia 110 and Nokia 112 devices combine browsing, social media, apps, world-class entertainment and long battery life to create a great package for young, urban consumers who want to do it all.”
A single SIM version of the two devices will also be released., the Nokia 111 and Nokia 113. The Nokia 110 and 111 will be released in the second quarter of this years while the 112 and 113 will be released in the third quarter. The price of the devices range from $45-$52.
Sony launches Android Walkman in Singapore
Sony will be launching their Z-series music player running on Android 2.3 in Singapore on Friday, May 18th. The Android-powered music player features a dual-core Nvidia Tegra 2 processor, a 4.3-inch WVGA (800 x 480 pixels) touchscreen, an S-Master MX digital amplifier and will be available in a 16GB version priced at S$429, more expensive than other Android music players, and even the new 32GB iPod Touch.
Apple adds features to iCloud
Apple is said to be preparing to announce new features for their iCloud service, which would add new photo-sharing features as well as commenting capabilities. The new feature is expected to be announced at Apple’s world-wide developer conference, which kicks off June 11. Other expected features include syncing personal video via iCloud, and accessing “Notes” and “Reminders” from their iDevice on iCloud.
