Nirvanix Teams Up with TwinStrata, Rounds Out Storage Offering

Cloud storage startup Nirvanix has aligned itself with TwinStrata to create an integrated solution that is more accessible for enterprises.

The Nirvanix-CloudArray couples Nirvanix storage with Twin Strata’s CloudArray, a solution that makes it easier to integrate off-site resources into an existing environment by creating so-called ‘cloud SANs.’  What the two firms are offering is a pre-configured bundle that comes with 50TB of remote storage, 12TB of high-performance on-site cache and uses up minimal admin time – all for an annual rate of $48,000.

The pitch also includes security – ”military-grade, multi-level” protection on Nirvanix’s end and the built-in secure access from CloudArray – as well as simplicity. From the IT department’s point of view Nirvanix-CloudArray is easy to implement and integrate with the startup’s other supplementary services: the dully-named Cloud Storage Network, Hybrid Cloud Storage and Private Cloud Storage. And at the same time the whole shebang is one integrated set of SLAs that is entirely covered by a fixed rate, which can be a very big plus for enterprise clients that are looking for a stable consumption model.

“Our customers have been asking for enterprise-grade cloud storage solutions that they can implement easily, affordably and quickly,” said Nicos Vekiarides, CEO, TwinStrata. “Nirvanix has proven repeatedly that it easily supports the robust, multi-petabyte cloud storage environments that our enterprise customers demand. This Nirvanix-TwinStrata pre-packed solution gives those enterprises everything they need at a simple, flat annual rate, making cloud storage for businesses more convenient than ever.”

The offering is sold through Nirvanix’s channel, and is pegged as a cloud storage start kit. If this works out the company might decide to increase the number of available configurations.

A week ago Nirvanix announced it landed a big contract with the Fox Networks Group, its latest big-name media customers.
