Message Bus Aims for Native Presence in Every Cloud Platform

Jeremy LaTrasse, Co-Founder, Message Bus, with Jeff Kelly and Jeff Frick
SiliconAngle’s Jeff Frick, along with Jeff Kelly of Wikibon.org, sit down with Ken Cheney and Jeremy LaTrasse, Chief Revenue Officer and Co-Founder of Message Bus, respectively, at the Splunk .conf 2012.
Message Bus is cloud native application that provides messaging services across email applications and other various message types. They manage a range of messages, from email marketing to billing transaction receipts, all with a corresponding priority classification.
Cheney, when asked what makes Message Bus different from most of IT Monitoring and notification filtration services today, said that “we allow our customers to see into their billing profile on a regular basis and actually correlate charges directly to log lines coming out straight from machine codes that are being generated as we send their messages.
“We can see not just the billing in formation, but we can also see response codes from feedback loops that they’re subscribed to and also we can see full-stream information, message by message, user by user. It can really do a deep dive on the data at their own time whenever they want.”
While Message Bus deploys Splunk to dive deep into the details of a problem, it also aggregates all the glitches and enables users to see the total workload across all the systems.
Message Bus has a presence in every major cloud provider, and has a variety of private clouds and hybrid pieces to their business. You’ll find them embedded into Amazon Web Services and Rackspace, and the company currently working on Azure to determine how they can best fit into the environment, allowing users to choose their own provider while they are embedded natively within.
Not all clouds are the same, and running across these clouds allows your work not only to spread evenly into these clouds but leverage the strengths and weaknesses within each. There’s not much competition yet for companies offering cloud native applications of this sort, and Message Bus is aiming for that market.
