ManageEngine Brings Session Recording As Enhanced Information Security Measure
ManageEngine, a leading provider of real-time IT management tools, has introduced a new feature of session recording of privileged accounts. The company has strengthened its Password Manager Pro software as the privileged sessions can be video recorded, archived and played back to support forensic audits, letting enterprises monitor all actions performed by privileged accounts during privileged sessions.
In IT, privileged accounts often provide unrestricted access to a company’s crown IT jewels. Session recording mitigates the related risks, providing a way to monitor what users are doing with their privileged access. With this latest feature, ManageEngine adds session recording capabilities in password management software that provide flexibility, visibility and control to administrators by capturing entire privileged sessions of sensitive resources on video. The recordings are then stored in a tamper-proof archive and can be retrieved anytime for forensic audits.
“The business needs of enterprises are in a constant state of flux,” said Rajesh Ganesan, director of product management at ManageEngine. “For a variety of reasons, employees, technicians, partners, contractors and other users require secure access to critical IT resources. But privileged accounts offer virtually unlimited access privileges, and with cyber-threats looming large, it is absolutely essential to track what users are doing with their privileged access.”
Talking technically, Password Manager Pro employs first-in-class, remote login mechanisms to deliver on both ease of use and security. The new session recording capability is an extension of the robust remote login mechanism in which the remote connections are tunneled through the Password Manager Pro server, requiring no direct connectivity between the user device and remote host.
Password Manager Pro is now available for immediate consumption, and can be downloaded from ManageEngine’s website as a fully functional, free 30-day evaluation edition. It is available as a Free Edition, Standard Edition and Premium Edition, with prices starting from $495 and $1,195 for standard and premium editions respectively.
