Corona Labs Acquires Game Minion

Corona Labs, leading mobile software company has completed the acquisition of Game Minion, a Dubai-based mobile cloud services company. Minion will now operate as Corona Cloud, and has been purchased for an undisclosed sum. With this acquisition, Corona Labs will accelerate the app creation process for all developers, especially Corona SDK users, as they integrate mobile apps with the cloud.

“The mobile industry is evolving at incredible speed and developers need to deal with increased complexity each day. Our acquisition of Game Minion allows us to extend the Corona vision and philosophy to the cloud, providing developers with a complete end-to-end platform,” says Walter Luh, CEO of Corona Labs. “The efficiency of Corona SDK developers, already 10x that of their peers, will only increase with the power of Corona Cloud,” he added.

Game Minion has a comprehensive suite of cross-platform cloud services, including multi-player gaming, push notifications, sophisticated analytics, cloud storage, leaderboards, achievements, content delivery, and social sharing. And its acquisition will provide the most complete end-to-end mobile development platform on the market.

Corona Cloud is currently available in closed beta, and is expected to launch in first quarter of 2013.
