ServicesMesh Buys Spot on EMC Select Catalog
ServiceMesh announced that its flagship platform is available worldwide through EMC Select, a program that makes third party solution more available for customers of the storage giant. The Santa Monica-based firm shared the good news in a release that went out this week.
ServiceMesh is responsible for the Agility Platform, a DevOps abstraction layer that makes it easier for IT pros to manage large-scale cloud environments. The software has been successfully deployed by over 2000 enterprises, and the company hopes that this number will rapidly increase now that it has the backing of the largest storage vendor in the world.
“Today’s enterprise must address the goal of rapidly releasing high-quality software from development to production while leveraging their existing software development tool chain and their preferred hybrid cloud deployment environments. Enterprises owe it to themselves to maximize the value of their cloud infrastructure investment by quickly extending it to their IT platforms and business applications,” said Eric Pulier, the founding CEO of ServiceMesh. “With the Agility Platform, they rapidly add the capability to offer self-service, on-demand deployment and management of applications and services across their hybrid cloud environments, delivering on their cloud transformation initiative.”
The alliance between ServiceMesh and EMC doesn’t come as too big of a surprise, considering that the head of the latter’s VC arm recently joined the cloud startup as its CTO. SiliconAngle CEO John Furrier beat everyone to the mark two weeks ago when reported the appointment before the two companies had a chance to send out an official confirmation.
A couple days after the hire, EMC rolled out an on-premise version of Syncplicty, its hosted file management service. The vendor is targeting enterprises that want full control of their information, but lack the time or resources to put together a software solution to address their needs.
