Druva Boosts its Endpoint Protection Platform with inSync Private Cloud Option

Sunnyvale-based Druva has launched a new private cloud product that is aimed at risks associated with BYOD and mobile devices while introducing a number of new features. The private cloud product option is designed to protect and control data on the exploding number of mobile devices coming into the enterprise from one central management point, and addresses a number of mobile enterprise concerns. The product is known as InSync, and it provides automatic backup of customer laptops, smartphones, and tablets. It also provides policy-enforced secure file-sharing, data encryption, device geo-tracking, remote data delete, and it is complete with full reporting and global search of content and file exchange.

“Larger enterprises with thousands of devices and users have been asking for a private cloud alternative that is as scalable, secure, manageable and elastic as Druva’s public cloud solution,” said Jaspreet Singh, CEO of Druva. “Now they can leverage the power of the cloud in an on-premise, centrally managed environment that scales with their needs while avoiding the complications of deploying separate instances in different departments and geographies.”

The product has been in beta and been tested by organizations with up to 20,000 endpoints. Enterprises benefit from reduced costs, increased security posture, centralized management, and more. InSync adds to Druva’s compelling service lineup that features the mentioned endpoint protection capabilities with data-deduplication in the private cloud and a centrally managed global storage nodes.

… a single cloud master can connect with any number of storage nodes deployed globally. The single cloud master handles authentication and policy management for all devices and users across the enterprise, including automatically directing the client to the appropriate storage node for backup. Each storage node in turn is configured to store backed-up data on the enterprise’s DAS or SAN for protection.
… More than 80% of enterprise data is duplicated across devices in the form of duplicate copies of the same emails, attachments and documents. inSync features an innovative global, client-side data deduplication technology that eliminates unnecessary duplication of storage.

Druva is privately held and has offices throughout the world. The company has over 1,500 customers across the globe and over one million endpoints managed by its software. For more information, visit www.druva.com/insync/
