LIVE: Xbox One Review: TV, Skype, Kinect + More

Updated with full video – see below.

On today’s SiliconANGLE Live NewsDesk Show, (see embed feed below or visit youtube.com/siliconangle to watch on-demand), we catch our first glimpse of Microsoft’s Xbox One – the first all-in-one gaming and entertainment system.

When the Xbox series started, there wasn’t the connected consumer of today. Smartphones weren’t so smart. But things have changed drastically over the last three years. Not only did Microsoft’s next-in-the-line Xbox have to deliver enough horsepower to fuel two generations of gamers — but on top of that it had to deliver live TV, an OS architecture that feels like smartphone-style multitasking, and a new Kinect sensor that can handle hi-def Skype calls. From monitoring your heart rate to purchasing in-movie or in-app merchandise, the Xbox One had to be much, much more.

Joining us now to tell us more about the Xbox One is SiliconANGLE Contributing Editor John Casaretto. (See the live broadcast, embed below ~ if you missed today’s live topic, check our YouTube channel for archived clips.)

Some of the things we’ll be discussing with include, Xbox One’s integration with our TVs, the Kincet’s upgrades, the new Snap functionality and Skype updates, and lastly the news that Steven Spielberg will executive-produce an original live-action television series based on the game Halo, which will include exclusive interactive Xbox One content.
