PBworks Launches Startup Accelerator Giveaway
PBworks, a San Mateo, CA-based provider of hosted collaboration solutions, announced that it will hand out free software licenses to startups that join the TechStars, 500 Startups, Acceleprise, DreamIT or Lemnos Labs accelerator program. Companies that are eligible for the “PBworks for Startup” giveaway receive a Starter Pack version of the PBworks collaboration suite with 20 permanent seats.
Jim Groff, the chief executive officer of PBworks, explained the motivation behind the initiative in a statement: “We discovered that a number of our best customers came from high-growth startups that adopted us when they were still in the proverbial garage. Those startups developed into market leaders or were acquired by market leaders, and became great customers. Working with top accelerators lets us plant a seed at some of the highest-potential startups in the world.”
PBWorks wants to score some points with tomorrow’s IT movers and shakers, a list that may as well include ScootNetworks. The company has redefined the meaning of SaaS with a Scooter-as-a-Service network that is available for eco-conscious commuters throughout San Francisco. Founder Daniel Riegel stopped by theCube the other day to tell us why locals should grab one of his company’s scooters on their way to work.
Riegel says that his scooters are just as fast as public transport but cost half as much as taxis. Users can activate them by docking their phone on the handlebar, paying with the same device once they arrive at their destination.
