WANdisco Extends Channel Reach with Strategic Alliances

WANdisco, the company that pioneered active-active data replication, teamed up with two Big Data firms in a move to bolster its portfolio with services and third party integration.

WANdiso partnered with Zaloni, a North Carolina-based provider of Hadoop solutions, to supply enterprise customers with the know-how needed to deploy the platform in their environments. The offering includes use case discovery, development, integration and ongoing maintenance.

WANdisco chief executive officer David Richards commented that “we offer solutions that deliver 100% uptime for Hadoop, and our clients want to know that in addition to these products, they will be getting an effective implementation plan and support. The partnership with Zaloni will provide exactly that.”

The company’s other new partner is Dataguise, an enterprise data protection specialist. The firm’s DG for Hadoop platform will be integrated with WANdisco Distro (WDD) to address “data protection challenges as well as overcoming global availability challenges.”

DG for Hadoop is pegged as a “comprehensive, flexible and modular solution” that utilizes analytics to protect data in Hadoop environments and help users meet their compliance requirements. WDD is an enhanced version of Apache Hadoop 2 that includes WANdisco’s homegrown replication technology and a number of other additions, including support for SUSE Linux Enterprise Server 11 Service Pack 2, Red Hat Enterprise Linux and CentOS.

“Our customers demand continuous availability to the critical data our technology protects. WANdisco brings 100% up-time and availability with their unique, patented technology,” said Manmeet Singh the CEO of Dataguise. “Together, WANdisco and Dataguise can meet the requirements our customers demand in their mission critical Hadoop environments.”

WANdisco’s latest partnerships are part of a move to boost demand for its Big Data software. Management’s strategy seems to be working: a couple months ago, the company landed a contract with one of the largest carriers in the UK.
