Microsoft is catching up to Apple and Google in the mobile scene, as Windows just surpassed the 100,000 app milestone in time for the BUILD conference. Aside from that, Windows 8 is gaining traction as users anticipate the release of Windows 8.1.
Though the Windows Store has more than 100,000 apps to offer to its users, it’s still missing some key apps to make its Surface tablets more appealing to consumers. Nevertheless, there are some good apps already available for Windows 8 users. Check them out:

Staying in contact with your Skype or Facebook friends is easy with this Windows 8 app. It’s not surprising that Skype has a Windows 8 app since it’s Microsoft owned, and because of this fact, the app looks great on the platform.
TwitterNothing is really special with the Twitter app, it’s just like what use in the web or on other platforms. It’s a quick way for people to tell everyone what they’re thinking or what they’re up to.
It’s Facebook for Windows 8 tablets. It has full support for photo galleries, news feed, chat, messaging, events and more.
Entertainment
This app lets you use your Windows 8 device as a second screen to intelligently interact with your Xbox 360.
