Apple Patent Hints at Scene Controlling Technology

 

This week’s SmartHome series featured Apple’s patent application for a device that can save, manage and recall entertainment and “smart home” system settings, called “scenes”; Ambient devices that tells you stock market trends, weather forecast and even energy consumption; and a new way for horticulturalists to take care of  plants using the cloud.


Smart PJs, Smart Bra and a Smart Ring

 

The SmartBody/Quantified Self series featured Smart PJs that make bedtime story-telling fun and interactive; a bra laced with sensors, dubbed the First Warning System, helps in the early detection of breast cancer based on temperature and soft tissue abnormalities gathers over time; and the NFC ring that is able to unlock phones, doors, share data or even connect with other.


Travel Companion, Charging Roads + Smarter Drivers

 

And this week’s SmartCar series featured Recargo’s new charging station rating service, PlugScore; the road developed by the Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology (KAIST) which enables electric vehicles charge via wireless charging; and Wayne Gerdes, a driver that is considered as the most fuel efficient driver.
