The Smart Home goes to MWC 2014

Alpha Networks introduced the ASL-14331M 4G Smart Home Gateway, which integrates all connected home devices by seamlessly linking and setting up network communication devices, home entertainment units, surveillance systems, network-attached storage applications, automatic controls, and cloud computing platforms.  Also at MWC, Haier unveiled its Smart Home Centre, a 6-inch touchscreen tablet that features WiFi, Bluetooth and ZigBee for home control.

Samsung, Sony + others launch wearable tech at MWC 2014

Earlier this week Samsung unveiled its flagship smartphone, the Galaxy S5, but aside from that, the company also revealed three wearable devices, the Gear 2, Gear 2 Neo and the Gear Fit.  All three are water- and dust-proof, capable of tracking your activities, steps, sleep, and run on Tizen.  Excluding the Gear Fit, the two other Gears allows users to accomplish basic phone tasks such as making and receiving calls, mails or messages.

Smart hearing aids, tags + team ups for the Internet of Things

Jasper Wireless introduced the Jasper Global SIM, with its latest software module to be integrated into the cloud-based Jasper Platform. This gives enterprises the ability to manage a single embedded SIM by remotely provisioning and managing mobile operator profiles and policies for that SIM anywhere in the world.  Jasper believes that this new SIM will be used to further initiatives in the Internet of Things.
