Target vs. Best Buy for Black Friday: BOGO deals and free shipping

Thanksgiving is still two weeks away, but mouths are already watering over turkey, dressing and Black Friday deals. As the post-holiday sale seems to get promoted earlier every year, retailers battle over store lines and clicks on the biggest shopping day of the year. It’s the buyers win, with massive discounts for popular gadgets and games.

Here’s what Target Corp. and Best Buy Co. Inc. are previewing for their Black Friday sales.

Black Friday Battle: Target vs. Best Buy

 

Target

Target will be opening its doors for Black Friday on Thanksgiving Day (November 27), at 6PM.

Its preview ad for the Black Friday sale includes an Xbox One – Assassin’s Creed bundle for only $329.99, which is $70 less than the original price, available for purchase online or in stores. Other items in the preview ad include a Samsung 60” smart LED HDTV for $797.99, GoPro Hero3+ for $249.99, a Nintendo 2DS for $99.99, Apple TV for $89, iPhone 6 16GB with a 2-year AT&T contract for $179.99, Samsung Galaxy S5 for only ¢1 with a 2-year AT&T contract and clothing apparel for as low as $15.

To sweeten the deal, some items will be offered at buy one-take one prices.

Best Buy

Best Buy will be opening its doors for Black Friday enthusiasts an hour earlier than Target, at 5PM on Thanksgiving Day.

Its offering includes the iPad mini 3 starting at $324.99, trade-ins for the iPhone 6 16GB at $99 with a two-year contract on Verizon Communications, Inc., AT&T Corp., or Sprint Corp., $1 for a 16GB iPhone 5S with a two-year carrier contract, $89.99 for an Apple TV, the latest model of a 13.3” MacBook Air for $1, 049.99, 55” Samsung Smart 3D HDTV for $997.99, Xbox One Assassin’s Creed bundle for $329.99, PlayStation 4 500GB bundle for $399.99, PS4 and Xbox One controllers for $39.99, LG G3 for only $1 with a two-year carrier contract, Samsung Galaxy S5 for $1 with a two-year carrier contract, and more.

Like Target, Best Buy is offering Black Friday prices for online shoppers as well. Best Buy is sweetening its deal with free shipping for orders over $35. However, the iPhone trade-ins are available in-store only.
