The PlayStation Experience showcases big titles, promises to be annual event
Sony Computer Entertainment’s “PlayStation Experience” (PSX) made waves with gamers this weekend with several big titles showcased at the Las Vegas fan event.
“Thanks to all of you, PlayStation 4 is the fastest selling console of all time,” said Shawn Layden, President and CEO of Sony Computer Entertainment America, as he addressed the cheering PlayStation Fans during the event opening. “The PlayStation Experience is a small token of our gratitude, and a celebration with all of you everywhere.”
Adam Boyes, Vice President of Publisher & Developer Relations at PlayStation, confirmed that PSX would become an annual event, much to the delight of PlayStation fans.
With the enormous PR success of the PlayStation Experience, it is hard to imagine that other console companies like Microsoft and Nintendo Co., Ltd. haven’t taken notice.
The Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3) is the biggest event in gaming right now, but companies have to share space and audience with their competitors during E3. Showcasing popular titles with a lot of hype directly to dedicated fans seems to have paid off for PlayStation.
