PaaS for IoT coming soon, appeals to developers

Axiros announces PaaS for IoT
Device management provider for the Internet of Things Axiros GmbH announced that it plans to release AXPERIENCE 2.0, an IoT platform that complements the company’s established AXCESS suite as it focuses on efforts that would help IoT software developers and service providers.
With AXPERIENCE 2.0, IoT developers and service providers will be able to design and deploy truly zero-touch connected devices, greatly improving the time-to-market of products and services on both initial installation and continuous build. Not only that, this platform leverages the DevOps architecture of the company’s leading communication products.

Konekt raises $1.3M for IoT connectivity platform
Konekt, an IoT startup that makes it easier to to connect things to the Internet via cellular connectivity, announced that it has raised $1.3 million in a round of funding led by NextView Ventures, Mucker Capital, Tyler Willis Syndicate with the participation of Maiden Lane, and Groupon International c0-founders Chris Muhr and Raj Ruparell.
“Konekt is the missing link in the Machine-to-Machine and Internet of Things market,” the company said in a released statement. “Previously, it has been expensive and inconvenient to connect devices to the Internet via cellular connectivity. With Konekt, makers, OEMs and systems integrators of all sizes and levels of sophistication can now build devices that easily and securely connect to the Internet with cellular connectivity.”
The Konekt Toolkit includes the Konekt Global SIM card which provides worldwide Internet access, Konekt Cloud which routes and stores all data on the Konekt network and the Konekt Management Portal which allows for management of all devices. Konekt aims to have connected devices leverage the robustness of cellular connectivity instead of using Bluetooth and Wi-Fi for its connectivity needs.

Octoblu’s API now available to more IoT developers
Octoblu Inc., an IoT platform that aims to become a translator between various protocols used by connected devices, has now made its application program interface available to more developers.
Until now, Octoblu has been softly released but IoT developers are now encouraged to register for Octoblu Beta. By requesting a beta invite, developers will also have access to Meshblu, an open-source, cross-protocol instant messaging platform.
Octoblu emerged in stealth back in July 2014 and has been acquired by Citrix Systems Inc. in December.
