Facebook new Scrapbook feature lets you easily share kiddy photos
Facebook Inc. has launched a new feature that allows you to create a scrapbook of tagged photos of your children which is shared with your partner.
The new feature is the result of a survey by Facebook of parents using the social network. The results found that 65 percent of respondents said that they tag their partners in photos of their child so that their partner’s friends can see the photos as well. With the new Scrapbook feature, users no longer have to use tagging to share pictures of their children on their partners timeline.
Along with the ability to create a co-owned scrapbook with their partner, users are able to create a unique tag to apply to pictures of their child; the tag can be either the child’s name, initials or in Facebook’s words “something fun.”
For privacy, only a user or their partner are able to tag the child in the photos, and can choose which photos to tag.
To set up a scrapbook users need to visit their About page on Facebook, then click through to “Family and Relationships.” An invitation to create a scrapbook should be available on this page, and to progress, users should click “Get Started.”
If the feature is not immediately available, it is still in the process of being rolled out; there’s no word on global availability, but Facebook says that it will be available in the United States on Facebook for desktop, iPhone and Android.
