3 must-have Apple Watch apps for a healthy, focused and happy mind

If you are feeling stressed out and are struggling to cope with the day-to-day pressures of life, there are a number of techniques and coping mechanisms to help you out. Meditation, listening to relaxing music or even playing a game can often help you relax and regain the critical focus you need to carry on. It is often as simple as taking just a few minutes to yourself. Scores of mobile apps have been helping us do just that.

We’ve selected three Apple Watch apps to help you relax, refocus and be happy:

Calm

Calm for Apple Watch claims to help you sleep better, relax and focus better through the art of meditation. The app includes a free introductory program, Seven Days of Calm, to help you learn the basics of meditation along with seven guided meditation sessions ranging in duration from just two minutes to 30 minutes.

The app also includes visual stimulus through nature scenes and auditory stimulation through background sounds and music to accompany your meditation sessions.

Fit Brains Trainer

The Fit Brains Trainer iOS app now includes three new games designed for the Apple Watch. The app aims to help you “warm up your brain and help you regain focus whenever you need it.”

Designed by Rosetta Stone, the company behind a host of language-learning and brain-training apps and software, the Fit Brains Trainer app has 24 brain games and more than 360 workout sessions designed to help you improve your memory, concentration, visual-spatial skills and process information faster so that you can quickly solve problems.

You can set weekly goals, track your progress and compare your performance to users similar to you.

Happier

Happier for Apple Watch is all about taking stock of how you feel throughout the day. For example, if you tell Happier you are feeling down, it will show you a positive quote or remind you to take a short meditation break to help lift your mood.

Happier also acts like a ‘gratitude journal’ by letting you record moments that make you feel good during your day. The app also serves up ‘expert-led’ courses on Apple Watch to help you deal with negativity.

The app also lets you connect with other Happier users, creating your own virtual support group.
