ZeroTurnaround lands $5 million in Series B funding to ease development and testing woes
Developer productivity tool vendor ZeroTurnaround USA, Inc. announced today that it has raised $5 million in Series B funding led by Bain Capital Ventures alongside Western Technology Investment. This brings the total amount of funding since the company’s founding in 2007 to $15 million.
“We are passionate about taking away the frustrations and time draining activities that impede developer productivity and performance each and every day,” said Jevgeni Kabanov, Founder and CEO of ZeroTurnaround.
As a DevOps tool developer, ZeroTurnaround claims to give developers the edge by aiding in the development of quality software by making creation up to 20 per cent faster.
ZeroTurnaround intends to use the new capital to expand its product lines by innovating JRebel and XRebel. JRebel is a JVM Java Agent that integrates with application servers designed to allow developers to reload classes on the fly and recompile while projects are running—this leads to less down time while deploying projects. XRebel is a lightweight Java profiler that acts to analyze code produced by developers to find flaws in their applications before they hit testing or production.
The company boasts more than 4,000 enterprise teams and 36 of the Fortune 100 companies using its products to make quality applications.
In 2013, ZeroTurnaround’s Developer Productivity Report revealed that code quality depended heavily on the tools available to developers. Apparently only 10 per cent of all projects get out the door bug free and 60 per cent without a critical bug. It encouraged automated functional testing and pairing up developers to review each other’s work when finalizing steps.
ZeroTurnaround to the cloud and mobile
ZeroTurnaround also recently announced integration with major cloud providers IBM, Red Hat, SAP and AWS to simplify development and testing in the cloud.
The company also has plants to take these efforts and expand to even more platforms including Android. This effort will be to bring ZeroTurnaround’s productivity tool into the mobile space so that developers can more easily test and deploy applications on mobile devices.
