Accessing the fruits of Big Data: The Fusion Alliance | #MITCDOIQ

The state of business today demands that companies have access to the fruits of Big Data, but not every company can manage the digital transformation on their own. That’s where Fusion Alliance steps in to help businesses get control of their Big Data needs.

To explain a little bit about Fusion Alliance and what they do, David LeVine and Mark Johnson of Fusion Alliance sit down with Dave Vellante of theCUBE, SiliconANGLE’s Media team, at MIT CDOIQ 2015.

The conversation starts off with a look at the MIT CDOIQ event itself. To Johnson, the event is a very positive thing, representing a collaboration between all kinds of people in the industry. He sees this cooperation as a chance for the community to make a very substantial impact in the space.

Taking the reins of data management

Talk then turns toward the Fusion Alliance itself, which helps clients harvest and integrate data, apply analytics and then deliver that information in a way companies can use in their business. As they put it, the goal is to tighten the bonds between their customers and their customers customers.

To get a proper view of a customer, analytics have to look at both the customer and their peer group. The trick is bringing together that data under one net. The most important factor in doing that is to compress time out of the equation. Making data immediately available is essential to business.

Collecting data and the future

LeVine and Johnson mention that customers would have to bring their systems together into one data management collective. The need to have data immediately accessible means a company can’t afford to wait for their information to filter through several different departments and systems.

Finally, the duo discusses the question of where Fusion Alliance is headed. Right now, they serve the market of highly regulated companies that have significant compliance needs. For the future, though, they’re counting on enterprise mobile delivery and digital capability.

“We are on a journey from managing data to managing insight,” Johnson says.
