‘Spinning up’ Hadoop for easy-to-run analytics with Attunity | #BigDataNYC

Attunity, Ltd. has been successfully finding solutions implementing Hadoop into its customers’ systems. Lawrence Schwartz, chief marketing officer at Attunity, talked about Attunity’s success at BigDataNYC 2015 with John Furrier and George Gilbert, cohosts of theCUBE from the SiliconANGLE Media team.

Evaluating current environment

Attunity focuses customers in a number of areas. It evaluates the customer’s legacy system and helps figure out how best to mix that foundational data warehouse and incorporate it into using Hadoop as well.

“We can help customers look inside their actual data warehouse and see what’s actually being used,” said Schwartz. On the flip side, Attunity has customers that have so much data with Hadoop that Attunity helps evaluate how to help tier data lakes.

Winning with the buyers

According to Schwartz, buying behavior with the Cloud is really about finding a way to “spin up some easy-to-run analytics.” Attunity sees that need for a self-serve, so they’re looking for solutions that are much easier to use. Customers are also looking to keep their existing data warehouse, but capping their growth. And that’s where the company’s software, Attunity Replicate, comes in handy.

“We really give you a business-wide view across the entire data warehouse,” said Schwartz. “We make it very easy to kind of dive in and out very rapidly.”
