Expedient sharpens its focus on security | #NXTWORK
Having many software solutions to offer customers already, Expedient Data Centers is turning its focus to security concerns, according to John White, director of product strategy at Expedient.
“On the security side, it’s really getting interesting,” he told Stu Miniman and John Furrier, cohosts of theCUBE, from the SiliconANGLE Media team, during Juniper Networks, Inc.’s NXTWORK 2015 event. “We have software solutions everywhere. Security solutions need to be kind of the biggest hotbed for us right now,” he stated. He spoke of the plethora of possibilities for security solutions enabled by the company’s partnership with Juniper.
Security challenges difficult to navigate
Although excited by the new world of software security solutions, White admitted to finding the developments challenging to navigate at times.
“We have so many different software opportunities to prevent malicious attacks or find out about malicious attacks or block a certain style of traffic,” he said, “Trying to manage all the different software providers out there is kind of tough.”
He added that news accounts of security breaches are always spurring customers to add security products to their cache. “We’ve built an a la carte model for our customers to buy those security services. So they can pick and choose what they want from us,” he explained.
Partnership with Juniper
White explained the role of Expedient’s partnership with Juniper in crafting the company’s tech solutions and services. “We’ve had a great experience working with Juniper,” he said. “We actually sell things per giga bandwidth or per giga RAM, and that’s the way they’re looking to take these things.”
