New luxurious item trackers coming in 2016

It’s easy to lose or misplace items, from car or house keys to a wallet, umbrella and even pets. They either get misplaced inside the house or fall into a black hole inside a handbag or are left behind in a restaurant or some other location. Or, in the case of pets, the door was left open and they make a mad dash outside.

For those who constantly lose things but have yet to invest in the current selection of object trackers, a few new options will be available soon to help keep track of your personal items. Renowned French designer Philippe Starck has collaborated with Wistiki SAS, a Paris-based high-tech company, to come up with the “end of lost” line, which includes four devices that fit a luxurious lifestyle.

Wistiki’s tracking devices

Wistiki has developed four tracking devices to fit different needs or lifestylea, but they all share the same features.

voilà!

VoilaThis little device was named after the French term used to express attention to something or satisfaction. It is small and rectangular and comes in four vibrant colors. It easily attaches to keys and other items users want to keep track of. If a phone gets lost, users can press on the concave part of the device to make it ring so it can easily be tracked down.

hopla!

HoplaHopla is a Dutch term that is usually stated with a content tone to express “here we go,” “there we go” or “that’s the end,” or as the company explained it, it suggests something happening with ease and perhaps with a touch of magic. The device is a self-adhesive, 3mm, slim, card-shaped product designed to discreetly integrate with different surfaces or technology. The user can press on the middle of the device to find their phone.

ahā!

Aha

Ahā is a  Latvian word, as well as the universal word to express pleasure or surprise when finding or discovering something. The device is shaped like a medal and is intended to be attached on a pet’s collar. Press on the white part to find your phone when you have misplaced it.

ta-da!

Ta-daThis device was named after an English expression to denote an impressive entrance or completion of a task. And the word is usually heard after a magic trick is done. The device is intended for children to entertain with an endless game of hide-and-go-seek. It is triangular in shape with the three points shaped like a heart, oblong and triangle, with eyes on each point made from luminous thread so it is easily seen in the dark. To use this to find a phone using this device, users can press on the rectangular end.

7 features available in all four tracking devices

1. Ringtone and hot/cold radar

This allows users to use the app on their phone to find the missing Wistiki devices by making it ring or by using the hot/cold radar to find the missing object easily.

2. Reverse ringtone

If by any chance a phone is lost, device users can use any of the Wistiki devices to find it. Users can press on the indicated part of the Wistiki to make a phone ring for easy retrieval.

3. GPS locator

Use a map to know where each Wistiki device is at any given time with the use of its most recent coordinates, as well as crowd GPS.

4. Share the Wistiki device

With the use of the user’s smartphone, they can easily transfer their rights to other smartphones so more devices can track their Wistikis.

5. Active community

If a Wistiki is lost, users can make use of the Wistiki community to find their lost item. They can use the live chat feature to communicate with the community and have their item returned.

6. Virtual leash

This feature alerts users when their item with a Wistiki device is moving away from them, such as when someone steals an item or when a pet has left your side.

7. Reverse virtual leash

When a lost Wistiki gets close to the user again, the user can get a notification on their smartphone letting them know that the item is in their immediate vicinity.

Where to get a Wistiki tracking device

All of the Wistiki devices have a three-year battery life, are waterproof and have a Bluetooth 4.0 range of up to 100m. They also feature 90 decibels of loud ring tone, are compatible with iOS and Android and can support up to 50kg.

At the moment, these new Wistiki devices are not available for purchase, interested parties can help fund them on Indiegogo, Inc. For $69, contributors get all four devices. Expect the first device, the Voilà, to arrive by March 2016 and the rest by December 2016. Wistiki does currently offer its original device tracker for less than $30.
