Drinking wine in the cloud at Hana Haus | #HCPmeetup

Drawing a parallel between the science of wine making and developing applications in the cloud, Emily Mui, senior director of HANA Cloud Product Marketing for global enterprise application software leader SAP SE, chatted with John Furrier, cohost of theCUBE, from the SiliconANGLE Media team, during the recent HANA Cloud Platform (HCP) sponsored wine-tasting at the Hana Haus in Palo Alto, CA.

Building community through social networking

In the relaxed atmosphere of the Hana Haus collaborative space, Mui told Furrier that she felt it is important for customers to understand the value of HCP and have the opportunity to get together and build community by networking, as well as learning from each other.

Linking the old world and the new

Mui explained that wine traditions are changing, with growers using traditional methods alongside technology to predict and control the quality of the vintage, just as the HANA Cloud Platform brings together on-prem and cloud to allow fast and simple app development.

HCP not just for SAP customers

When Furrier asked what Mui about the #1 misconception about Hana Cloud, she replied that it is not true that HCP is only for SAP customers. She emphasized that many of her clients are integrating HCP with Oracle and Salesforce, and that HCP is a platform with a thriving ecosystem and many partners.
