How to watch Apple’s March 21 launch event, what to expect | #AppleEvent
Apple is hosting its “Let us loop you in” event at the company’s Cupertino, Calif. campus on March 21. If you’re not one of the lucky few to attend the event in person, you’ll at least be able to live stream the keynote on a range of Apple devices and even a Windows 10 PC.
Apple is expected to unveil a new 4-inch iPhone, a 9.7-inch iPad Pro, new Apple Watch Bands, and publicly release iOS 9.3.
What to expect from Apple on March 21
4-inch iPhone SE
In an unprecedented move, Apple is expected to release a 4-inch iPhone, dubbed the iPhone SE, that will likely see the company launch three new iPhones in one year (the iPhone 7 and 7 Plus are due for release in September).
The iPhone SE is expected to look much the same as the iPhone 5s on which it is based. Under the hood, the iPhone SE will sport an A9 chip and M9 motion coprocessor combo, 802.11ac Wi-fi, Bluetooth 4.2, support for Live Photos (but no 3D Touch), a 1,642 mAh battery, and NFC for Apple Pay. As for the design, the iPhone SE will have 2.5D cover glass with curved edges and an all-metal casing.
9.7-inch iPad Pro
It’s widely believed that instead of upgrading its iPad Air line, Apple will introduce a 9.7-inch version of its larger, 12.9-inch iPad Pro. The new 9.7-inch iPad Pro is likely to ship with the same A9X processor as its big brother and include support for the Apple Pencil and a smaller version of Apple’s Smart Keyboard. Storage options are said to include 32GB and 128GB versions starting at $599.
New Apple Watch Bands
We’re unlikely to see the Apple Watch 2 make an appearance, but Apple might introduce new band color options and styles at Monday’s event.
iOS 9.3
iOS 9.3 has been available in beta for a while now and Apple is likely to make it available to the general public following Monday’s event. iOS 9.3 brings a number of new features to iPhone and iPads, including Night Shift mode for easier nighttime reading and password protection for Notes, among others.
How to live stream Apple’s March 21 event
Apple’s keynote kicks off March 21 at 10 a.m PDT (1 p.m. EST)and will be streamed live on Apple’s event page. Here’s how to live stream the event from your device, including iPhone, iPad, Mac, Apple TV, and PC.
Watch on iPhone, iPad, iPod touch
On your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch — running iOS 7.0 or later — open Apple’s event page in Safari to watch.
Watch on Mac
To watch on your Mac running OS X 10.8.5 or later, open the page in Safari 6.0.5 or later.
Watch on Apple TV
If you’re using a second- or third-gen Apple TV running tvOS 6.2 or later an Apple Events app should automatically appear on your system. If it hasn’t, or you’re using a fourth-gen Apple TV, go to the App Store and search for “apple events” and install the Apple Events app.
Watch on a PC
Users with a Windows 10 PC will also be able to stream the event. To watch, you’ll have to use Microsoft’s new Edge browser.
