Watch live: the blueprint for hybrid IT analytics for digital business

Exploring the key theme of digital transformation in modern infrastructure for information technology environments, SiliconANGLE hosts its inaugural theCUBE in-studio digital event on Aug. 22.

Global organizations are expected to spend more than $1.2 trillion on digital transformation technologies in 2017, up 17.8 percent from 2016, according to the research groups International Data Corp.

Together with CA Technologies Inc. and Wikibon Research (owned by the same company as SiliconANGLE), the “Cloud & Hybrid-IT Analytics for Digital Business” event will be hosted by John Furrier, co-chief executive officer and co-founder of SiliconANGLE Media.

“We will be exploring the best practices in building and managing next-generation, modern infrastructure, where you can get the blueprint of success that works for you,” said Furrier.

Digital transformation is a key part of aligning information technology innovation and business strategies and is picking up steam in organizations. Gartner Inc.’s CEO survey found 42 percent of the surveyed chief information officers have begun digital transformation.

“IT operations has never been more important with the cloud. When you hear of things like analytics and monitoring, those are changing; those are becoming new important table stakes in the future modern era,” said Furrier.

In order to meet digital business demands, infrastructure must evolve to be able to handle unpredictable workloads reliably and at scale. This can be achieved through what Peter Burris, chief research officer at Wikibon, calls “plastic infrastructure,” an evolution of the elastic infrastructure that characterizes cloud-based operations. Not only is this architecture faster and cheaper, but it’s also able to handle wide variances in data location.

What to expect from theCUBE in-studio digital event

Burris kicks off the live event with his presentation “Modernizing IT Operations for Digital Business.” Burris will explore the key success formula for digital transformation using digital business infrastructure, with analytics and monitoring at the heart of the value proposition.

His presentation will be followed by Sudip Datta, vice president of product management and strategy for the infrastructure management and analytics products at CA Technologies. Datta will present on the “Key Pillars of a Modern Analytics & Monitoring Strategy.”

Finally, Furrier will moderate a panel discussion of cloud IT experts and practitioners, including Umair Khan, principal product marketing manager at CA Technologies, who will discuss “Modern IT Ops in Action.”

“Rethinking and reimagining the approach of how you use analytics and monitoring could be the difference between digital transformation and a failed project,” said Furrier.
