Attunity addresses island problem in the data lake

One of the key principles in today’s enterprise data “lake” repository is that real-time data integration streaming is needed from multiple sources. It takes specialized tools to capture data in this environment, and Attunity Inc. has built its reputation as one of the vendors that operates in that space. The challenge in data integration has been finding a way to navigate the disparate places where data originates and where it needs to find a home, while blending analytics to help enterprises make sense of it all.

“What we actually have today is more islands, more places where the data needs to go and more patterns in which the data moves,” said Itamar Ankorion (pictured), chief marketing officer at Attunity.

Ankorion visited theCUBE, SiliconANGLE’s mobile livestreaming studio, and spoke with co-hosts John Furrier (@furrier) and Peter Burris (@plburris) during the recent BigData NYC event in New York City. They discussed a major new release of Attunity’s data integration platform and the importance of real-time data to customers. (* Disclosure below.)

Updates for integration portfolio released

Attunity took several major steps recently to address the data management challenge. The company announced a new release of its big data integration platform that featured updates for Attunity Replicate, Attunity Compose for Hive, and Attunity Enterprise Manager.

The enhancements are designed to help customers capture incremental continuous data fed into the data lake and then turn it into historical or operational data stores, ready for analytics. Enterprise Manager then orchestrates the process across the infrastructure, managing thousands of replicate tasks across a potentially equal number of endpoints.

“We’re seeing that enterprises are mixing more of the traditional data lake, the cloud as a platform and streaming technologies as a way to enable the modern data analytics that they need,” Ankorion explained.

Attunity’s Replicate technology is designed to provide real-time data ingestion into data warehouses or analytics platforms without a loss of performance at the source. “The ability to act on the real-time data, that’s the frontier of competitive differentiation. That’s what makes the customer experience better,” Ankorion concluded.
