SnapLogic connects cloud applications for improved enterprise integration

Expansions in cloud technology have given enterprises a plethora of new opportunities through cloud-based applications that streamline business processes. While these apps offer support for companies, their siloed systems create management complexities that can complicate operations and delay resolution. As companies struggle with the governance of disparate cloud platforms, information technology partners like SnapLogic Inc. are working to optimize integration.

“By bringing in a … sleek interface with a lot of capability in how it connects — ‘snaps’ together apps and data — we’ve brought in a whole genre of people who … can serve themselves data,” said Gaurav Dhillon (pictured), chairman and chief executive officer of SnapLogic.

Dhillon spoke with Jeff Frick (@JeffFrick), host of theCUBE, SiliconANGLE Media’s mobile livestreaming studio, live from SnapLogic’s headquarters in San Mateo, California. They discussed the challenges of cloud management and how SnapLogic is simplifying integrations in the enterprise. (* Disclosure below.)

Facilitating data democratization with AI

SnapLogic’s mission is to bring together applications and data in the enterprise to facilitate development processes for non-developers. “We asked ourselves when we started this company … what would Apple do if they were to build an integration product? … They would make it like the iPhone, which is easy to use but very powerful at the same time,” Dhillon said.

The average enterprise has 91 software-as-a-service applications, 96 percent of which are not connected, according to Dhillon. By taking advantage of the capabilities in cloud infrastructure, SnapLogic enables improved data democratization for its customers.

“Most companies don’t have programmers to hook up those API’s. … The answer is to let these applications bloom, but to keep them … orchestrated, in … a model where … one view of the world is managed by SnapLogic,” Dhillon said.

As the technology continues to evolve, SnapLogic is employing artificial intelligence internally and with customers to enable more efficient predictive workflows. “The AI, as you start to snap things together … gets 98.7 percent accurate in predicting how to connect SAS applications. … We have a vision in the future towards an autonomous integration,” Dhillon concluded.
