Bringing Sexy Back to Virtualization: VMworld 2012
VMworld 2012 VMware CEO Pat Gelsinger with SiliconAngle Founder John Furrier
We’re cooling our heels over here at SiliconANGLE after hoofing it around VMworld 2012 with a vengeance—we’ve seen the release of so many great products, the cloud has never been hotter (except in the event of pyroclastic flow from a volcano.)
In this round our top stories have come from speaking about how VMware needs to bring the sexy back to virtualization; how Jayshree Ullal, President and CEO of Arista Networks, sees networking in general as (still) sexy; and the ever charming Pat Gelsinger revealed his vision for the future of VMware (potentially involving more sexy indeed).
If you missed out on any of our VMware coverage from this week it’s not too late to pick up your recaps and feel like you just stepped back into your hotel room from the convention floor. Just read up on the day one recap and the day two recap then you’ll be set.
Finally, I’ll leave you with a vision of the future of VMware as we look into why the virtualization company wants to join with their apparent competitor OpenStack and why that’s not “fraternizing with the enemy,” after all.
That closes up VMworld 2012 for most of us; time to hit the pub and take a much-needed breather. See you all next year about this time!
