IBM Ex-President Joins Executive Bad Boy Club: Misconduct with an iPod
Earlier this month we highlighted some of the most high-profile crimes in the Valley, like the late Steve Jobs’ house being burglarized, Michael Dell’s daughter’s Twitter account deactivated for security reasons, and then there was the stolen iPhone debacle. But the story that stood out the most was Bill Gates’ arrest back in 70’s and 80’s for multiple driving violations including driving without a license, running a red light, and suspicion of driving under the influence. If you want to read more about that, click here.
If you think Gates was bad, wait until you hear about what a former IBM executive did.
The Yotsuya Police Station of the Tokyo Metropolitan Police announced that they’ve filed charges against Takuma Otoshi, former IBM Japan president, for allegedly using the video recording feature of his Apple iPod to film up the skirt of a woman on an escalator at JR Yotsuya Station. What Otoshi did is in violation of Tokyo’s ordinance that pertains to causing a public nuisance.
On the 22nd of August, a male commuter witnessed what Otoshi was doing with his iPod and reported the incident to train station authorities.
“I have an interest in peeping photos,” the former president stated, admitting the allegations to the authorities.
A number of files with the same nature were discovered in Otoshi’s iPod.
Otoshi served as IBM Japan’s president from 1999-2008 and at the time of the incident, was employed as a senior adviser in the company. But the company said that Otoshi has already submitted his resignation to the company.
