Ubitus Built-in Video Game Consoles GameNow Arrives on LG Smart TVs in Korea

LG is more serious than many of its rivals in gaming, and is bringing a gaming console right into its Smart TVs. On the occasion of E3 2013 Los Angeles, LG and Ubitus, the technology leader in deploying cloud-enabled rich media services, announced the start of a partnership that will see the U.S. launch of the platform cloud gaming GameNow accessible from the Korean manufacturer of Smart TV.

Expanding the service, Ubitus and LG have announced that they have signed a partnership for a new cloud-gaming service that will beam directly to LG’s Smart TVs in Korea. The cloud gaming solutions will empowered LG U+ to bring Korea first commercial Smart TV cloud gaming service with LG U+ C-games on LG Smart TVs.

Consumers can now play console-quality video games on demand without the worrying about loading discs, time-consuming downloads and long installation times.

“Ubitus commits to work with LG U+ and LG Electronics to jointly deliver exceptional gaming experience directly through Smart TV to consumers,” Ubitus chief executive Wesley Kuo said in a statement. “We believe Korean consumers will be amazed at how effortless it is to enjoy console-quality games directly and instantly on their LG Smart TVs. Select, click, and [you’re] ready to play, just like the way they’ve been enjoying video-on-demand services.”

All owners of the new Smart TV can then access to a large catalog of games, which includes many blockbuster, such as Street Fighter X Tekken, Devil May Cry 4, Dead Rising 2 or Batman: Arkham City. LG says the models are compatible with GameNow are LA7900, LA8600 and LA9600. The GameNow service on LG Smart TV is compatible with the Logitech gamepad F310, F510, F710, Rumble-Pad2 and Joytron Rumble Power and Power 2.

Ubitus and LG U + have been continuously working to optimize C-games cloud gaming service. The new generation of C-games 2.0 service comes with Full-HD graphic quality, better latency, more new game titles and more games manufacturers such NEXON Korea and NEOWIZ.

Although currently Sony with the Playstation 4 and Microsoft with its Xbox One neatly blow to the fight game consoles , there are more and more small suppliers who also vying for the attention of gamers. GamePop is one such Android based console that plays iOS games on your TV. BlueStacks, the company that invented GamePop, uses Looking Glass technology to convert iOS games to work on Android consoles or TVs.

Unu is another player, which is considered as the world’s first comprehensive multi-functional tablet combines the best features of Tablet, Gaming Console and Smart TV in one device.
