The One Big Reason Why Apple and Steve Job Dominates + Some Steve Jobs Videos

image It’s great to watch the coverage from the #D8 conference put on by Kara Swisher and AllThingsD.com. One big highlight was the presence of Steve Jobs.

The one main thing that jumps out at me from all the Steve Jobs interviews is his focus on role of "the product" from Apple. As all the bloggers and VCs dispense advice to entrepreneurs and growing companies, there is one constant that makes a company great – The Product.

In any industry having a great product for a growing market matters when trying to build a viable sustainable leading company. This is the key to Apple’s success. They focused on building a great product.

There are tons of other things that need to go right in building a great company but the ability to build a great product requires a company to have all the resources and management aligned and executing – that is excellence in the management team, management practices, market intelligence, go to market, HR, sales delivery, packaging, pricing, marketing, etc…

If you want to be wildly successful as a startup or growing company focus all the energy on building a great product. By focusing on getting to a great product if forces a company to seek out the best team, management style, market development, sales, etc to make it happen.
